All our artists are full time professional musicians and many have international reputations. Concerts take place on Saturday evenings commencing at 7.30pm. or a bass) or at least come to one of our concerts. We have over 160 members
of various ages and sing an average of four concerts per season. Ripon Choral Society, under its conductor John Dunford and accompanist Greg Smith performs three or four concerts each year in the magnificent setting of Ripon Cathedral. The Society, with over 200 singing members, is one of the largest in Yorkshire. The Society is currently going from strength to strength, having recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. The Cathedral Concert Society presents a winter series of monthly chamber music concerts in the wonderful surroundings of Ripon Cathedral.
Information about the North Yorkshire Chorus, a mixed voice choir based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire Ripon’s renowned St Cecilia Orchestra is much more than just an orchestra. At its most spectacular it is an exceptionally fine and very large symphony orchestra, often working with top class international soloists and capable of giving high-quality performances of some of the most demanding large-scale works in the repertoire, such as Bartok Concerto for Orchestra, Elgar Symphony No 1, Holst Planets Suite, Janacek Sinfonietta, Rachmaninov Symphony No 2 and R. Strauss Ein Heldenleben.
